Business Unit Overview

The Enterprise Financial Services (EFS) organization is Warner Bros global finance shared service center and has been in operation since 2010. Our primary objectives are to deliver efficient, effective and scalable global finance and accounting services across all WB Business Units and Territories. EFS comprises of 3 towers; Record to Report (R2R) – Financial Statement preparation, Procure to Pay (P2P) – Invoice payments to Vendors and Invoice to Cash (ITC) – Billing and collection from Customers.

Opportunity Overview

The Job
You will be responsible for overall general accounting activities, record-to-report, for various WB Global Businesses within the EMEA territories. Your duties will include general ledger stewardship, month end close support, review of all financial statements, by title reporting, footnotes / disclosures and Treasury cash management support.
Main Daily Responsibilities
Oversee the execution of general accounting activities including direct Responsibility of the following areas for the following Territory:
  • US GAAP Financial statement review, including partnering with SDC Controllers and providing input
  • Giving input and incorporation on internal controls and subjective provisions and support in execution of ad hoc projects, including Fixed Asset inventory counts
  • Develop policies and procedures
  • Act as primary liaison with GPOs in EFS Burbank, also point of contact for internal/external auditors and SDC Controllers in managing the month end close and troubleshooting
  • Participation in monthly and/or quarterly financial statement meetings with SDC and EFS
  • Review and analyze financial statement and management reports. Also you will keep oversight, review and resolution of intercompany settlements
  • Providing recommendations and decisions related to Accounting within home office guidelines and local statutory requirements. Key and/or material decisions on Accounting, matters for the Territory should be discussed with Global and in­ Territory stakeholders, EFS Burbank along with CFO
Responsible for the supervision and execution of the following tasks:
  • Treasury related activities, including support for bank transaction posting/cash clearing (coding support due to local language/other issues)
  • Setup new bank accounts and related SAP master data, bank signatory management and third-party reporting
  • Supervises other employees (Accounting Managers)
Staff development to include:
  • Develop staff into mature financial advisors with a customer service orientation toward the dependent BPO and the main Corporate and Business Unit groups
  • Make recommendations on process improvements and standardization to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness within the region
Assist Director, Enterprise Financial Services in the following areas:
  • Preparation of business meetings
  • Ad hoc regional/ global projects and cross divisional projects (e.g., Treasury/ Cash/Territory Finance) including cross divisional initiative
  • Setting department objectives with subsequent follow up and tracking
(prior) Work Experience
  • BA/BS in a related field
  • Accounting qualification, i.e. CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent
  • US GAAP reporting environment
  • 6+ years’ experience within a similar industry is preferred
  • Supervising Accounting Department of a large Company is preferred
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
  • Advanced excel skills and mid-level for all other Microsoft applications
  • Ability to learn/utilize various systems and applications
  • SAP or other leading ERP experience is preferred
Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of Accounting related tasks to include Treasury
  • Supervisory experience to delegate and manage staff
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, exceptional organizational skills, strong analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills
  • Self-motivated, multitasker and able to work under a deadline
  • Strong English communication skills required, written and oral
  • Team player and able to work independently, with strong interpersonal skills
