The Job

The Technical Operator team is a multi-tasking, detail-oriented and fun group of individuals that must master multiple production disciplines to get the daily job done.

We are responsible for mixing audio utilizing a multi-channel digital console as well as operating graphics and robotic camera control for all live and pre-produced programming. We do this by collaborating with Directors and the Editorial show teams in an ever-changing, time-sensitive environment.

The pressure can get high, but we are known for our professionalism and poise. It isn't enough to operate the gear. We want to understand it from rack to control room. In our roles we don't just exude technical acumen, we also take pride in our creativity; devising engaging camera shots and working with the show teams to generate ideas that innovate production.

We see ourselves as critical to the successful tracking and resolution of issues with the equipment in the way we document and follow up with our Engineering partners. The relationship we have with the management team is critical. Our feedback is very valuable. When the opportunity arises, the network depends on us to travel within the country and overseas to support remote productions.

There are a multitude of opportunities for growth within the CNN networks and our team has many of the skills other departments value. We are positive, motivated and collaborative. If all of this describes you then you might be a fit for our team.
